Dr. Gary Ciurczak, Ph.D.

Dr. Ciurczak has conducted evaluation activities throughout New York State and in other states for projects within the US Department of Education, Health and Human Services, New York State Education Department, the New York State Office of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities, the New York State Office of Alcohol and Substance Abuse Services, the New York State Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention, the City of Buffalo Neighborhood Housing Services, many school districts throughout New York State, and also the Delaware Department of Education.
He is currently working closely with many clients in writing grant proposals to the US Department of Education and the New York State Education Department. He is also working with a colleague on a project with the US Department of Defense Education Activity, a civilian agency within the Department of Defense. Dr. Ciurczak provides research support for the grant proposals, including literature reviews and reviews of the proper choice of statistical tools for each proposal.
Dr. Gary Ciurczak has received a B.A., M.A., and Ph.D. in Sociology, all from The University at Buffalo, The State University of New York. He has also received an M.A. in Economics from the University at Buffalo. Before starting Ciurczak & Co., Inc., Gary worked for ten years as the evaluator with a national educational non-profit with headquarters in Buffalo. While there he evaluated a project and presented the evaluation results to the New York State Education Department. They awarded the effort an “Exemplary Program” award, the highest level of award available through the NYSED validation process, which is a rigorous evaluation procedure requiring programs to demonstrate effectiveness through the presentation of persuasive data reviewed by experts in the field.
